On 16 and 17 November 2023, the Universidad Católica del Norte in Antofagasta hosted the IX Annual Congress of the Chilean Scientific Society of Psychology (SCP), a meeting that brought together leading researchers and scientists to share their findings and discuss the latest advances in the field of psychology. In this context, our research associate Jaquelin Morillo obtained an honourable mention in the “Thesis in 5 minutes” competition with her work entitled “Exploring Factors Affecting Lie Quality: Morphological, Psychological, Behavioral, and Physiological Perspectives”.
Last October, our research associate Bastián González-Bustamante had the honour of presenting his paper entitled “New Data Sources and Signals on Presidential Approval: Daily Indicator Based on Google Trends” at the BigSurv23 conference, held on 26-29 October in Quito, Ecuador. This important international meeting brought together experts in data and social sciences to share ideas and experiences on producing socially relevant statistics.

Last July 15-19, our research associate Bastián González-Bustamante had the honour of presenting his research entitled “The Impact of Ministers’ Profiles on Cabinet Turnover during Presidential Crises” at the World Congress of Political Science, which took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This important conference brought together more than 2,995 participants from 98 countries to discuss the most relevant issues in political science.

In recent weeks, our Training Data Lab research team had the privilege of presenting two papers at international conferences. Our researchers, Bastián González-Bustamante and Diego Aguilar, showed their research on territorial patterns of open e-government in Chilean municipalities, highlighting the importance of digital democracy in modern government.
