On 16 and 17 November 2023, the Universidad Católica del Norte in Antofagasta hosted the IX Annual Congress of the Chilean Scientific Society of Psychology (SCP), a meeting that brought together leading researchers and scientists to share their findings and discuss the latest advances in the field of psychology. In this context, our research associate Jaquelin Morillo obtained an honourable mention in the “Thesis in 5 minutes” competition with her work entitled “Exploring Factors Affecting Lie Quality: Morphological, Psychological, Behavioral, and Physiological Perspectives”.
Last October, our research associate Bastián González-Bustamante had the honour of presenting his paper entitled “New Data Sources and Signals on Presidential Approval: Daily Indicator Based on Google Trends” at the BigSurv23 conference, held on 26-29 October in Quito, Ecuador. This important international meeting brought together experts in data and social sciences to share ideas and experiences on producing socially relevant statistics.
We are excited to announce that our research associate, Bastián González-Bustamante, has successfully presented his research paper “Resignation Calls and Ministerial Turnover in Latin America: Notes on Data Gathering using Machine Learning” at the Society for Latin American Studies (SLAS) annual conference held in Bath, UK, on 21-22 April 2022.
